February 1st, from 11:30 to 2:00, there will be an Open House for Faculty in the McKillop library sponsored by the McKillop Library, Center for Teaching and Learning, and the University Computer Labs. Faculty are invited to have lunch, attend presentations and one-on-one demonstrations on topics of technology and information literacy.
The CTL will host a hands-on exploration of the technology available to borrow from our office: voice recorders, clickers, tablet PCs, FlipCams, iPads, and ebook readers. Explore, learn, experiment a little, and ask a lot of questions.
We will also do two presentations:
12:00 Teaching with Clickers — This interactive session will explore different types of questions and activities for implementing clickers in your classroom.
1:00 Anti-plagiarism and Beyond! — This presentation will demonstrate how you can use the many different features of Turnitin to improve your students’ writing.
Other presentations and demonstrations will include:
- MOVI video conferencing
- Films on Demand
- Course guides
- Publishing in eScholar
- Databases for your discipline
- Course reserves
- Library resources in My WebCourses
