Workshop: Integrating Community-based Learning into your Course

Monday, October 27th                       Noon to 1:30pm

Center for Teaching and Learning Faculty Suite, McKillop 007.

Are you interested in involving your students in community-based experiential learning?   Would a service learning, community-research, or career-related assignment or module enhance your students’ ability to apply course content and materials?

This workshop is intended to engage faculty who are exploring options for integrating community-based pedagogies and student learning outcomes into courses for either Spring or Fall 2015. You will be able to access information about our many community partners, and meet staff who can provide support for your work.

  • Learn about existing service-learning or career-related assignments embedded in courses at Salve and beyond.
  • Explore how your experiential component could become the basis for a professional development opportunity in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
  • Share ideas with colleagues and refine your own.

Bring a syllabus for the course in which you envision a community component.

Lunch will be provided.

RSVP requested. Please register online.

Co-sponsored by the Offices of Arts and Sciences, Career Development, Community Service, and the Center for Teaching and Learning
