April 24, 2013
3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Bazarsky Lecture Hall
Are hardbound textbooks going the way of slide rules and typewriters?
In this special session, we will look at the larger questions involved in the evolution of textbooks from paper to digital formats. What is driving the move to digital? What are the benefits and drawbacks for learners and instructors? What are the options?
Representatives of Follett (operators of our bookstore) will give us insight to where the industry is headed, and faculty who actively use e-textbooks will share their experiences. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion following the presentations.
This program serves as a logical follow-up to last month’s presentation by the staff of McKillop Library on e-books generally, especially as they are accessed through the library’s web site. We invite you to join us and continue the conversation.
As with all CTL events, refreshments will be available.
