Welcome to a new year, a new decade–and a new semester! With only two weeks before classes begin, we’re here to help you get ready.
If you use My WebCourses, it is time to request your course shells for the semester. We have a new course request form to expedite the process. You can access the form here or from the Teaching Online page.
If you would like to use My WebCourses, we are offering training sessions before the semester starts. Check out the workshop schedule from the Professional Development page.
This semester we are going green. We can help you to do the same. We have the tools on campus to help you provide materials for your students, receive and grade assignments and quizzes, and do collaborative projects, all without using a piece of paper. Look for the tree icon which denotes workshops in our Teaching Sustainably series.
We also have tools available for you to borrow from the Center for Teaching and Learning. You can try out new technologies without investing heavily in them. We have:
2 Tablet PCs
3 classroom sets of Clickers
1 Digital voice recorder
1 Podcasting microphone
The Instructional Technology lab also has software that can ease your content creation. We have:
Respondus for creating MyWebCourse compatible quizzes from your Word files
Study Mate for creating interactive study activities
Camtasia Studio to add voice-overs to your PowerPoint slides then convert to a web-ready format.
Contact Annette Torrey at extension 2413 to borrow equipment or learn to use the software in the lab.
