Blackboard Learning has just announced the winners of the 2009 Exemplary Course Program. “The Blackboard Exemplary Course Program began in 2000 with the goal of identifying and disseminating best practices for designing engaging online courses and courses with online components.” Courses are evaluated as to how well they conform to best practices in course design, interaction and collaboration, assessement and learner support. (See the rubric for 2010.)
This year’s winners include courses from middle school to Ph.D. level, in disciplines as varied as art history, history, nursing, sociology, and languages. Courses include fully online offerings as well as blended courses and supplemental learning. You can take a short video tour of each of the courses. I think you will find them inspiring, and you may see a trick or two to incorporate into your own course.
The Exemplary Course Program is accepting submissions for the 2010 program through January 18th, 2010. Find out more at http://kb.blackboard.com/display/EXEMPLARY/2010+Exemplary+Course+Program+Documents
